The short answer

Horse-property cleanouts are priced by truck share for mixed loads, $241 for a quarter truck up to $732 for a full one, with specific items at flat prices: a bundle of lumber or wood scrap is $41, a wood pallet $33, a small disassembled storage shed $186, a riding mower $152, yard waste $88. The price is set from photos of the whole property before booking, so long driveways and far corners of the lot are part of the quote, not a surprise.

Where these properties are

  • Norco: opened on Mother's Day, May 13, 1923, incorporated in 1964, and trademarked "Horsetown U.S.A." in 2006. Horse trails take the place of sidewalks, businesses have hitching rails, and about 81% of homes are owner-occupied.
  • Woodcrest: an unincorporated equestrian community south of Riverside whose first subdivision, Woodcrest Acres, dates to 1926. It covers large parts of the Orangecrest and Arlington ZIPs.
  • Jurupa Valley and Mira Loma: incorporated July 1, 2011, uniting Rubidoux, Pedley, Glen Avon, Sunnyslope and Mira Loma on the old Rancho Jurupa. Large lots, horse properties and sheds.
  • Lake Mathews and the Arlington edge: big lots with grove and yard debris.
  • Mead Valley, Nuevo, Homeland and San Jacinto: agricultural and large-lot communities with outbuildings.

Norco's housing has a median build year of 1975, and many of these properties have had the same owners for decades. That is why a single barn can hold forty years of fencing repairs, retired tack and equipment.

What comes out of a horse property

The junk on these lots is different from a tract-home garage.

  • Fencing: old wood rails, posts and broken panels. Lumber and wood scrap is priced by bundle.
  • Tack rooms: broken saddle racks, old blankets, buckets, feeders and shelving.
  • Barns and sheds: decades of tools, pallets, metal shelving and things nobody remembers buying.
  • Equipment: riding mowers, wheelbarrows, generators and yard tools.
  • Yard and green waste: branches, brush and cleared growth from around arenas and fence lines.

A few things need a conversation first: hay and manure, fuel and chemicals, and anything that is still attached to a structure. Hazardous materials are not standard; ask case by case. Paint is accepted.

Why city bulky pickup rarely fits

Municipal bulky programs are built for a few items at a suburban curb. A horse property is the opposite: heavy, awkward pieces spread across an acre, often a long walk from the street. In Norco, horse trails replace sidewalks along many roads, so there may be no conventional curb at all. Most programs also exclude construction-type debris such as lumber, and some exclude anything one person cannot safely lift, which covers riding mowers, shed panels and full feed bins. Programs in unincorporated areas like Woodcrest, Mead Valley and Lake Mathews vary, so check with your hauler. For most large-lot jobs, the practical choices are hauling it yourself with a trailer, or a flat-price pickup that collects from wherever the items sit on the property.

Flat prices for common large-lot items

ItemFlat price
Wood Pallet (Each)$33
Yard / Hand Tool (Blower / Trimmer / Ladder)$33
Wheelbarrow$37
Lumber / Wood Scrap (bundle)$41
Generator (Portable)$71
Metal Shelving$71
Tires (set of 4)$87
Yard Waste$88
Picnic Table$111
Riding Mower / Lawn Tractor$152
Storage Shed (Small, Disassembled)$186
Large Junk Pile$208

Example: four bundles of old fence rails and a riding mower, $41 + $41 + $41 + $41 + $152 = $316. A small disassembled shed and two pallets, $186 + $33 + $33 = $252.

Truck-share pricing for barns and tack rooms

ScopeTypical tierFlat price
One tack room1/4 truck$241
Tack room plus a run of old fencing1/2 truck$431
Barn aisle and one outbuilding3/4 truck$587
Barn, shed and yard debrisFull truck$732
Full property cleanout before a saleTwo full trucks$732 + $732 = $1,464

These are typical; your photos set the actual tier. A Norco estate where the family is selling might combine two full trucks with a riding mower and a set of trailer tires: $1,464 + $152 + $87 = $1,703.

Access: driveways, gates and turnarounds

Large lots mean long drives. Tell us, with photos if you can:

  • Where the truck can turn around. A long single-lane driveway with no turnaround changes how the crew approaches the job.
  • Gates and whether animals need to be secured before the crew arrives.
  • Ground conditions after winter rain, when dirt drives and arena edges can be soft.
  • Distance from where the truck parks to the barn or shed.

None of these add a fee; they just make sure the crew plans the right approach. Horses should be in stalls or a closed paddock while the crew carries items past.

Green waste and the clean-green rule

California's SB 1383 makes organics recycling mandatory, and Riverside County's Badlands and Lamb Canyon landfills run clean-green lanes for yard waste, at $47.39 a ton, as long as loads stay clean with under 1% contamination. If you are hauling brush yourself, keep it separate from trash and lumber. On a JunkRabbit job, yard waste is priced at $88, and we recycle whatever we can.

Fall is Santa Ana wind season, and many large-lot owners clear brush and stored debris then. Book a morning window, especially from June through September, and upload photos on the instant quote page.

Frequently asked questions

Do you clean out barns and tack rooms in Norco?

Yes. Mixed loads are priced by truck share, from $241 for a quarter truck to $732 for a full truck, set from photos before booking. Heavy items like riding mowers can be added at flat prices. The crew collects from wherever things sit on the lot.

Can you take old fencing?

Yes. Lumber and wood scrap is $41 per bundle. Fencing that is still installed should be taken down first. Four bundles are $41 + $41 + $41 + $41 = $164.

Do you take manure or hay?

Ask first. Anything outside standard household and yard junk is handled case by case. Send a photo so the answer is clear before booking.

Is there a fee for long driveways?

No. Share photos of the driveway, gate and turnaround so the crew can plan the approach. Soft ground after rain is worth mentioning too.

How much is a shed removal?

A small storage shed, already disassembled, is $186. Its contents are priced separately by item or truck share. A shed and two pallets are $186 + $33 + $33 = $252.
